NexAudio Privacy Policy
NexAudio is a local-first macOS voice companion published under bundle identifier com.funyoru.nexaudio.
Summary
The core voice loop is designed to run locally on your Mac. NexAudio does not sell personal data, include advertising SDKs, or use cross-app tracking. Optional cloud features run only after you connect and select a provider.
Data Processed On Your Mac
- microphone audio for push-to-talk and speech recognition;
- generated speech, selected speaker profiles, and original synthetic starter assets;
- user-selected media files and subtitle history;
- RSS article text, saved articles, reading state, and generated read-aloud segments;
- local preferences, memories, and speaker-specific relationship notes;
- voice consent records and user-selected reference files;
- local runtime and bridge diagnostics.
These items remain in the app container or Application Support area unless you explicitly export or delete them.
Voice Cloning And Consent
Voice cloning is intended only for your own voice, voices you have permission to use, or original character voices. Child voices require guardian confirmation. NexAudio is not intended for public-figure impersonation or unauthorized third-party voice creation.
The App Store build includes one original synthetic Kawa starter reference generated for NexAudio. It is not based on a real person, celebrity, performer, or unauthorized cloned voice. No private user reference or public-figure voice pack is bundled.
User-selected source files are copied into the app container for local processing. Temporary imported sources are removed after preparation succeeds or fails. Resulting speaker references remain on the Mac until deleted.
Optional Cloud Providers
If you connect an optional provider, NexAudio sends only the content needed for the request. Examples include a prompt sent to a selected model provider or OAuth identity information returned after sign-in. API keys and OAuth tokens are stored in macOS Keychain when available. Providers process data under their own terms and policies.
Permissions
- Microphone, after you start push-to-talk.
- User-selected file access, for subtitles and voice reference import.
- Screen or system-audio capture, only after you start system-audio subtitles.
- Network access, for RSS, OAuth, optional providers, StoreKit, and model downloads.
NexAudio does not require Accessibility permission in the App Store build. Recording and capture state is visible while active.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. NexAudio receives entitlement status but does not receive or store payment-card data.
Retention And Deletion
Local data remains on your Mac until you delete it, remove it in the app, or remove the app and its container data. Credentials can be cleared in NexAudio or Keychain Access.
Children
NexAudio is not directed to children. A child voice may only be prepared by a guardian for private local family use.
